MobileProto

This class will explore mobile application development, the software development lifecycle, as well as the entrepreneurial mindset that is needed to make useful mobile applications. The class will be taught using the Android Java development platform.

This is an entirely student-run class, building off of the foundation for MobileProto "previously called MobDev" run by both professor Mark Chang in 2011 and alum Rachael Stedman  in 2012.

Class structure

It will start with the basics of introductory programming for Android in Java and phone gap programming in HTML/CSS/JS (student choice).

It will then progress into two-week projects, each focusing on a different functionality or opportunity in the mobile application ecosystem, where you will prototype an app idea. Lastly, you (the students) will focus on a final project, where you will make and submit an app to the app store.
